Best time to visit Armenia
May and June, and September and October are the loveliest times, with days of 22° to 31° in Yerevan.
July and August are hot and dry in Yerevan (around 35°); highlands such as Sevan and Dilijan are much cooler.
December to March is the season for snow and skiing at Tsaghkadzor, and it's cold (around 2° by day in January).
Before you travel
- Most sights are day trips from Yerevan (Khor Virap, Sevan, Dilijan and Tsaghkadzor), so stay in the centre.
- Halal restaurants are easy to find in Yerevan and rarer outside it, so plan meals on day trips.
- Carry some cash in dram for markets and villages; cards are accepted in the city.
- Mountain evenings are cool even in summer, so bring a light jacket.
