The Haramain train from the airport
The Haramain station is in the Terminal 1 building, and the train reaches Makkah in under an hour and Madinah directly. Book ahead in the Umrah seasons, as seats sell out.
Don't mix up Jeddah's two stations: "Jeddah Airport" is inside Terminal 1, while "Jeddah Al-Sulaymaniyah" is in the city. If your flight uses the North Terminal or Terminal 4, allow time to get to Terminal 1.
Getting to the airport
The airport is north of Jeddah, 20 to 45 minutes from the centre depending on traffic, with taxis and ride-hailing apps at the terminals. From Makkah, the train brings you straight to Terminal 1.
The new Terminal 4
It covers about 97,000 square metres, handles up to 15 million passengers a year and has a dedicated check-in area for Hajj and Umrah groups. The plan is to move foreign airlines from the North Terminal to it in phases, along with some carriers from Terminal 1 and the Hajj and Umrah terminals.
