Flights and visas
Saudia flies direct to Phuket from Riyadh and Jeddah, three times a week from each, in about 7.5 hours, and Saudi passport holders enter Thailand visa-free for 30 days after filling in the TDAC digital arrival card. Bali takes one stop, with a visa on arrival or e-visa for 30 days, plus Bali's tourist levy.
Nature and sights
Bali has the Tegallalang rice terraces, waterfalls, Mount Batur and Nusa Penida. Around Phuket are the Phi Phi Islands and Phang Nga Bay, the beaches of Kata and Karon, Old Phuket Town, and Krabi nearby.
Halal food and hotels
Phuket has a Muslim community and many halal restaurants, especially in Phuket Town and around the mosques. Most Balinese are Hindu, but the tourist areas have halal restaurants. Bidet sprayers are common in hotels in both.
