Best time to visit Kyrgyzstan
June to September is the loveliest time for the lakes and mountains; Bishkek sees 24° to 32° by day, and the highlands are much cooler.
July and August are the season for Issyk-Kul and the nomad yurts.
Winter is cold and snowy (around 3° by day in January), and good for skiing at Karakol.

- The exemption is 30 days within every 60 days, so plan your stay accordingly.
- Distances between the lakes are long and the roads mountainous, so allow plenty of driving time.
- Halal food is everywhere, as most of the population is Muslim.
- Carry cash in som, as cards are rare outside Bishkek.
