Tips before you go
- Zermatt is car-free: leave the car at Täsch and take the shuttle train, about 12 minutes.
- July to September is for the lakes and hiking, winter for skiing, and the peaks have snow all year.
- Mountain weather changes fast, so check the summit webcams before going up.
- You need a Schengen visa, applied for through the visa centre at least 10 to 15 days before travel.
