The dates, and when to book
The break runs from 26 February to 13 March 2027, and Eid is expected on Tuesday 9 March by the Umm al-Qura calendar. Eid is one of the busiest travel times of the year, so book flights and hotels early, especially direct flights.
1. The last ten nights in Makkah and Madinah
The break starts a few days before the last ten nights, a chance for Ramadan Umrah. Book your hotel near the Haram early, and don't forget the Umrah permit on Nusuk.
2. Dubai and Abu Dhabi: Eid close to home
Two hours by air, no visa, mild weather in March, Eid events and theme parks for families.
3. Malaysia: Eid in a Muslim country

Two and a half hours by air, no visa, and a warm sea with coral reefs in March.
6. Aqaba and the Dead Sea: Eid in Jordan
Aqaba is warm in March and the Dead Sea is at its best before the summer heat, with no visa for Saudi passport holders.
Tips for Eid travel
- Book early, as fares rise the closer you get to Eid.
- Fly back a day or two before the end of the break to avoid the last-day rush.
- Make sure the family's passports are valid for at least six months, especially the children's.
